Abstract

Geological borehole data is an important data that truly reflects the underground space information. Using borehole data and geological map to display the underground structure in three dimensions can not only realize the visualization of geological data, but also can truly reproduce the spatial distribution of geological units and their mutual relations. Through in-depth research on WebGL technology, combined with virtual reality technology, asynchronous loading of dynamic resources and high-precision 3D geological modeling of multi-source data, this paper develops 3D visualization technology of borehole data based on WebGL. Based on this method, 3D geological modeling of a certain area in Zhejiang province is carried out through borehole data and geological map data, which verifies the practicability and effectiveness of this method. Through this research and application, it has opened up a new way and pointed out a new direction for the 3D visualization display and application of 1.2 million geological borehole data in the physical geological Data Center of Natural Resources.
