Abstract
On-line detection methods of spark locations of electrical discharge machines (EDM) have been developed in recent years, and some achievements have been made worldwide. At present, two kinds of detection methods have mainly been adopted: these are acoustic signal detection and electrical signal detection. This paper gives a detailed introduction of both the detection methods. It also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the above mentioned methods.
