Abstract

AbstractObjective. To analyze the influence of clinical pathway (CP) on the length of hospital stay and the hospitalization expense. Methods. Gathering all the patients of four single diseases that were consistent in diagnosis standard and treatment scheme from July 2010 to March 2012 after the implementation of CP and then comparing the length of hospital stay and the hospitalization expense between the CP group and the reference group. Results. (1) The CP reduces the length of hospital stay of the parotid mixed tumor patient (P < 0.05), and other diseases have no statistical difference. (2) The main factors of the hospitalization expense such as operation fee and drug expense for the patients in the CP group are lower than those for the patients in the reference group (P < 0.05). (3) The total hospitalization expense for the cleft lip and cleft palate patients in the CP group is lower than that for the patients in the reference group (P < 0.05). Conclusion.
