Abstract

The work has the precedent of another work, also coordinated by Inaki Arrieta (Museos, memoria y turismo. Uni- versidad del Pais Vasco. 2006), both of which arose from Congresses organised by the Department of Philosophy of Values and Social Anthropology of the University of the Basque Country in 2005, and although in this case the term "Con- greso" should be qualified, given that these texts are not the result of open communications, but of papers specifically commissioned for these debate meetings. This is why the authors of the texts and their contents reflect the views of a wide range of specialists involved in specific projects, or who have developed a broader reflection on the subject of the world of ethnological museums in very different places in Spain and other European territories.
