Abstract

The article analyzes the content of the norms of the Statute of Civil Procedure of 1864 in terms of requirements for a court decision. The article considers the existence in the norms of the specified normative legal act of such requirements to the court decision as legality, validity, motivation and fairness. A comparative characteristic of the norms of the Statute and the norms of the current legislation governing civil legal proceedings, in terms of requirements for a court decision, is made. A conclusion was made about the historical continuity of legal regulation regarding the content of these requirements.
