Abstract

This paper discusses some of the requirements of fast neutron cross sections for the development of tokamak fusion reactor technology and their current status. While considerable progress has been achieved in knowledge of fast neutron scattering and reaction cross sections of fusion reactor materials, much work needs still to be done particularly on double-differential neutron emission and neutron activation cross sections, in particular (n,α) cross sections. Particular consideration has been given to the work of Professor Csikai and co-workers who have rendered essential contributions to the measurement and analysis of 14 MeV neutron cross sections of importance to fusion.
