Abstract

The aim of the study: to evaluate the effect of chronic abacterial prostatitis on reproductive function. Materials and methods. The study included 41 patients with chronic abacterial prostatitis (age 20 to 45 years). Patients of the 1st group (n=24) for 4 weeks received standard conservative therapy, after which is appointed by nonspecific stimulation of spermatogenesis within 30 days. Patients of the 2nd group (n=17), along with traditional therapy for 4 weeks received physical therapy, after which they also were appointed nonspecific stimulation of spermatogenesis within 30 days. Results. Analysis of indicators of the ejaculate in patients of the 1st group shows a significant improvement of the fertilizing capacity of sperm. Asthenozoospermia disappeared in 40% of cases; the percentage of morphologically normal forms was subject to regulatory value in all patients with previously identified teratozoospermia. The results of treatment of patients of the 2nd group demonstrated a normalization of almost all the key parameters of the ejaculate. Asthenozoospermia have survived in only 12.3% of patients. The phenomenon of oligo – and teratozoospermia was eliminated in all patients. Conclusion. The use of complex therapy of chronic abacterial prostatitis with subsequent stimulation of spermatogenesis in the background of continuing antioxidant therapy eliminates patospermia and allow the basic parameters of the ejaculate is back to normal.
