Abstract

The article is devoted to identifying the main platforms and content of representations of the national-conservative and liberal segments of the socio-political discourse of strategies and practices of educational policy of Russia in the eastern outskirts of the empire. The work is written on the materials of the periodical press of the second half of the 19th — early 20th centuries. The study involved central and regional publications, on the pages of which turned out to be reflected the positions of conservative and liberal segments of society regarding the principles of organization of the educational space of the Russian periphery, the main tasks and methods of conducting the educational policy of the empire in conditions of “internal” colonization. In the process of research, the content of the sociopolitical discourse of strategies and practices of educational policy in Russia was deconstructed, positions of national-conservative and liberal publications were established, representing ideas about educational policy objectives in the eastern outskirts of the empire, similarities and opposition of the parties in assessing the role of its actors in the process of colonization and imperial construction
