Abstract
In these lectures we shall discuss aspects of the representation theory of certain infinite dimensional Lie algebras, the Virasoro algebra, \(\hat v\), and the untwisted affine Kac-Moody algebras, ĝ. (Much of what we shall say extends easily to the case of twisted affine Kac-Moody algebras but we shall stick to the untwisted case for simplicity.)
