Abstract
A representation of the ground-state wave function of the U(1) lattice gauge theory, which was used in variational and Green's-function Monte Carlo calculations, is considered. It is proven that the representation is valid. An important symmetry of the representation is discussed. The harmonic limit of the U(1) lattice gauge theory is derived in this representation.
