Abstract

To the Editor: Although the United States is becoming more racially and ethnically diverse, skin of color continues to be underrepresented in dermatology education materials.1 While it has been documented that imagery in dermatology textbooks lacks diversity in skin tones, online resources have not been well studied.2 Although textbooks were once the gold standard for gathering medical information, physicians and patients rely more heavily on the internet. Studies revealed that 82.4% of dermatology patients use the internet or social media to acquire medical information, with Google being the most accessed source.
