Abstract

AbstractA description of the interconnections between the bodies of a multibody system is given in terms of mode vectors representing constrained relative motion and generalized applied and constraint interaction across joints. The representation can be applied to develop joint libraries for general purpose multibody programs thus releasing the user from formulating constraint equations and force laws describing the joints. An example provides the physical interpretation of the concepts introduced here.
