Abstract
This qualitative study was held with the objective of analyzing the adolescentes’ social representation about domestic violence. It involved eighteen high school students in Passo Fundo – RS. Through some prejecting techniques and semi-structured interviews, it was possible to notice that the violence representation is a present phenomenon in the society and it is supported by the use of drugs, personal defence with the use of guns and by the antisocial behaviour. The domestic violence is represented as an attitude of escape and defence, harmful, intentional and unpunished and as a legitimate trivialization. This representation is supported by the sensation of abandonment and rejection and it should be overcome through the search of a multi-dimensional way to introduce new practices and socially acceptable behaviour. Summary
No enfoque da teoria da representação social, inicialmente buscamos transformar o não familiar em familiar, materializando um objeto abstrato – violência doméstica – para, posteriormente, atribuir-lhe um novo sentido. Que vislumbra as raízes da violência no interior das pessoas e na forma como elas estabelecem suas interações interpessoais, ficou evidenciado também na categoria: autoritarismo parental. Esse exercício de poder no interior das relações familiares que se configura como abuso psicológico não deve ser confundido com autoridade paterna, entendida como a função socializadora exercida pelos pais dos adolescentes, a qual inclui a transmissão de valores sociais e a definição dos limites das ações individuais, que canaliza e estabelece a contenção dos instintos, necessária à civilidade. No âmbito dos serviços de saúde, o favorecimento do vínculo afetivo precoce do recém-nascido com seus familiares pode ser a estratégia inicial de prevenção e atenuação de danos físicos e emocionais, por meio do provimento de afeto, lacuna considerada determinante na gênese da violência. A essa lacuna a equipe deverá estar constantemente alerta para detecção e intervenção
