Abstract
We appreciate receiving the information on the research by Drs Olson and Jobe 1 published in June 1996. Our MEDLINE search on November 13, 1996, just before we submitted our Editorial, failed to disclose the publication of their article due to a delay in indexing. Coincidently, BMJ showed considerable initiative in further exploring these issues in a series of articles 2-5 and followup letters. 6 We strongly urge interested readers to consult this thoughtful collection introduced with a challenging commentary by the editor, Dr Richard Smith. 2
