Abstract

The Role of Women in Peace Movements, in the Development of Peace, Research and in the Promotion of Friendly Relations Between Nation's was presented by UNESCO to the World Conference for the United Nations Decade for Women in Amsterdam. The second section on peace research has been published in an earlier issue of WSIQ. The first section on women in peace movements consists of six case studies: they are ‘South African Women and the Pass Laws’ by Shirley Mashiane Talbot, ‘The Participation of Kalinga (Filipino) Women in Peace Problems’ by Victoria de la Cruz, ‘Attitudes of Polish and Scandinavian Women Towards Peace,’ by Maria Lunderius, ‘Women and Disarmament’ by Betty Reardon, ‘Contribution of Cuban Women to Peace and the Improvement of International Relations’, by Ana Maria Navarro Arrué, and ‘The Peace People of Northern Ireland’ by Scilla McLean who has also collaborated with Eva Senghaas-Knoblock in analysing the studies. For our reader's information we present one of the studies. We invite you to read all of them.
