Report on the Present Course and Tasks of the Chinese Women's Movement

Abstract

1. Since the May Fourth Movement the Chinese revolution has been engaged in the period of revolution for a new democracy. For thirty years, together with the Chinese people, Chinese women have persisted in the struggle to resist imperialism, feudalism, bureaucratic capitalism, and the Kuomintang reactionary rule. They have gone through the May Thirtieth Movement, the crusade against the northern warlords, agrarian revolution, the War of Resistance Against Japan, and the different revolutionary periods of the People's Liberation War. They have been brave and willing to sacrifice their lives, always pressing on the fight in the footsteps of their fallen comrades; they were never subdued, and they always persisted in the struggle. Chinese women laborers, together with revolutionary intellectuals, threw themselves in large numbers into the great struggle for national independence, freedom and democracy, and for the liberation of the women themselves.
