Abstract
The paper describes the discovery in rice fields of northern Italy of three species of Charophytes rarely reported in Italy, Chara fibrosa ssp. benthamii, a tropical taxon not native to the European Charophyte Flora, previously recorded in Italy only once, in the nineteenth century, Nitella translucens and N. mucronata.
