Abstract
The stations at Weston, Fordham, Georgetown, Buffalo, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Milwaukee Chicago, Saint Louis, Florissant, Spring Hill, New Orleans, Denver, Santa Clara, and Spokane were in continuous operation during the year.The new Sprengnether equipment at the University of San Francisco had not begun routine operation in 1949. The stations at Little Rock and Cape Girardeau resumed operations only in the Fall. New electromagnetic equipment was designed and built by Victor C. Stechschulte, at Xavier University, Cincinnati, and is giving good satisfaction. The station at Fordham University has been expanded to include tripartite installations for the study of two‐second microseisms under a contract with ONR. Highly specialized electronic equipment is being used at the Florissant Station of St. Louis University for the study of half‐second microseisms under an ONR contract.
