Abstract

The Association's relationship with Blackwell Publishers continues to work well. They are handle all of the standard printing and publishing activities: (a) subscription services (including expanded credit card capabilities), (b) advertising, (c) permissions, (d) redactory services, (e) printing, (f) back issue processing, (g) mailing and distribution for the Journal of Finance. Our web site (www.afajof.org) is held and maintained at Blackwell (UK). Some start-up difficulties were experienced with the web site, but those have been solved for the most part. During 1999, JSTOR completed the processing of the back issues of the Journal of Finance and all issues through Volume 52 (1997) are available on on-line on JSTOR. More recent volumes and forthcoming issues are available on our web site. A link to the JOF archive at JSTOR is available to AFA members from the members' page of www.afajof.org. The financial condition of the Association remains very strong. As reported previously, the Board agreed to fund the cost of professional accounting help, and a yearly audit starting with the September 1998 financial statements. The audited versions of these statements for fiscal 1999 will be published in the August 2000 issue of the Journal of Finance. Membership has again declined slightly.
