Abstract

Nearly all of the members of the Committee on Dynamics of Streams have during the past year been actively engaged on research‐problems of one type or another directly bearing upon the functions for which the group was established. The Committee fostered the preparation of eight of the papers presented this year at the annual meeting of the Section of Hydrology. A consistent effort has been maintained to keep in touch with other groups interested in research of the character sponsored by the Committee.A number of developments have occurred in other organizations whose activities are more or less closely related to those of the Committee on Dynamics of Streams. The Applied Mechanics Division of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers is now publishing a journal containing the results of theoretical investigations and research reviews in fluid mechanics [see reference 1 in section “Bibliography”].
