Abstract

A 21-Day ‘Level-2’ capacity building program on Geospatial Technologies was organized during 09.01.2020 to 29.01.2020 as 4th Winter School Program-2020 in the Department of Geography, The University of Burdwan, Purba Bardhaman, West Bengal. The program was sponsored by the Natural Resources Data Management System division of the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. The theme of the ‘Level-2’ program was “Application of Geospatial Technologies for Disaster Management”. Training to the participants was given on remote sensing, geographical information system, global navigation satellite system, Contemporary surveying instruments, etc., to build knowledgebase and adaptation capacity on disaster management. A large group of resources persons were invited to deliver lectures in this program. They were from the University of Burdwan as well as many other institutes like ISRO, NATMO DSTBT, etc., of India.
