Therefore the actual increased defects per tooth are 0.75 Total tooth surfaces observed before treatment 17,325 Per cent of tooth surfaces involved before treatment 25.75 per cent Total additional tooth surfaces observed at conclusion of treatment 5,015 Per cent of additional tooth surfaces involved at conclusion of treatment 3 per cent As stated previously one-half of the “additional” defects (or surfaces) occur on posterupted teeth; therefore, the actual increase would be 1.5 per cent.
