EDLEFSEN, Chairman of the Committee for the period 1940–42, was called to assist in investigations in connection with the war effort, and was compelled to relinquish the chairmanship. Dr. L. D. BAVER was asked to act as Chairman of the Committee, but recently found that he could not undertake the obligation in view of the press of other duties. President CHURCH then drafted F. J. VEIHMEYER to serve as Chairman. The short time available has precluded the possibility of following the usual method of preparing the report of the Committee.
