Abstract

Although the degree of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) can range from mild to severe, men with mild post prostatectomy incontinence (PPI) are the largest group seeking treatment in most urologic practices. The retroluminal sling has enjoyed popularity as a well-established sling for the treatment of mild SUI, and it is therefore offered to most men with lower amounts of urinary leakage. Similarly, the artificial urinary sphincter is generally recognized as the most predictably successful treatment for men with SUI who have received adjuvant external beam radiotherapy and is therefore commonly offered to such men.
