Abstract

We summarize the principal arguments of our new book, Good-Bye Hegemony! Power and Influence in the Global System, and respond to the comments of two reviewers. We defend our conceptualization of hegemony, the logic of writing a critique of U.S. foreign policy for American and non-American readers, argue for the utility of our concept of sponsorship and make explicit our belief that the dispersal of so-called hegemonic functions among multiple actors has the potential to lead to a more stable world.
