Abstract

Pearce (2015) commented about the paper titled “Signature of the Gold Cove event (10.2 ka) in the Labrador Sea” by Rashid et al.(2014) suggesting that due to an oversight error in re-calibration of four 14C-dates of Kaufman and Williams (1992) and Kaufman et al. (1993), Rashid et al. (2014) misidentified the Gold Cove event. Furthermore, as a result of this error, findings and conclusions in Rashid et al. (2014) are “difficult to justify the correlations of several DC layers in the Labrador Sea”. Here we reply to Pearce (2015) comments. We further elaborate our reasoning behind the identification of 10.2 ka event.
