Abstract

Abstract This is a reply paper to the comment on “investigtion on the 1000, 1150 and 1400 °C isothermal section of TiAlNb system”. The reply is divided into two parts from two research groups. The first part focused on the γ 1 phase and ordering characteristics of Nb in TiAl. This part briefly reviewed the experimental works on γ 1 phase and the ordering characteristics of Nb in TiAl, including the lattice site occupation of Nb in TiAl, the continuous ordering process with increasing Nb and Al content in TiAl, the tetragonal lattice and formation characteristics of γ 1 phase. A sample with the composition similar to the alloy used in the comment paper was studied in this part. The result proved the ordering characteristics of Nb in TiAl again. The second part provided the modified 1000 and 1150 °C isothermal sections of TiAlNb system.
