Abstract

The reason to perform our anatomic study was evidence from recent literature that athermal division of the dorsal vascular complex (DVC) is favorable compared with a standard ligation in robotic and laparoscopic radical prostatectomy.1-3 Advantages were not only observed in improved early continence but also in a reduced apical positive margin rate. The limitations of our study are clearly mentioned in the article: a low number of cadavers investigated bearing the chance of biased results by interanatomic variations.
