Abstract

We thank Prof. Goh for his insightful comments. The textbook outcome (TO) is a composite measure encompassing 6 criteria and reflects the ideal hospitalization for patients following surgery.1 In this setting, the rate of TO achievement is a comprehensive indicator of surgical care quality. In our nationwide study, we defined benchmark values using the TO to select centres using best practices for both laparoscopic left lateral sectionectomy (LLLS) and laparoscopic right hepatectomy (LRH).2
