Abstract

The author responds to Harry Clarke's comments on an earlier paper on the effect of a hypothetical 50 per cent increase in skilled immigration on the Australian economy over the period 2005 to 2025. He discusses the findings of his own paper and demonstrates that Clarke's view that skilled immigration will improve incumbent welfare is not supported by original, proven research.
