Article AbstractLetter to the EditorSir: We appreciate Dr. Pies†interest in our paper and the opportunity to address the complex nosological issues raised in his letter.Dr. Pies refers to the controversy regarding the term psychosis, for which there are several definitions in the DSM-IV. The more restrictive definition requires the absence of insight; however, the less restrictive definition includes "prominent hallucinations that the individual realizes are hallucinatory experiences."
