Abstract

Thank you for your comments on our article. Nearinfrared autofluorescence for the detection of choroidal nodules is indeed interesting, helping us to confirm the diagnosis of NF1, when uncertain. We believe these lesions are not good indicators of glioma formation or growth; this is the main reason why we perform ophthalmological examinations. Since these nodules are not part of the NIH criteria of NF1, more research is necessary to acknowledge the additional value of performing this exam routinely.
