Abstract
In the preceding comments Leineweber et al. repeat the present author’s thoughts on the “Thermodynamics of cementite layer formation” and claim to have discovered mistakes in the approach. The following rebuttal demonstrates that Leineweber’s view is not compatible with the fundamentals of chemical thermodynamics.
