Abstract

In the preceding Comment by M. Schulz et al. [Phys. Rev. A 87, 046701 (2013)], it is argued that the experimental resolution is responsible only for part of the discrepancies between theory and experiment in the problem of ionizing 100-Mev/amu ${\mathrm{C}}^{6+}+\mathrm{He}$ collisions. They also note that our theoretical study [Phys. Rev. A 86, 032710 (2012)] lacks an account for the effects of the projectile coherence, which potentially can resolve the remaining disagreement. We show, by means of the rigorous approach based on time-dependent scattering theory, that the projectile-coherence effects have no impact on the cross section in contrast to those due to the target coherence. The results and conclusions of our theoretical analysis [Phys. Rev. A 86, 032710 (2012)] remain unaltered both in the case of the first-order model and in the case of higher-order models.
