Abstract

There are a few essential errors in Kiefl's Comment, but he has raised some important issues that need further clarification. Here we address these issues: We discuss the spin dynamics of a magnetic polaron and explain why the fast fluctuation limit proposed in the Comment is inappropriate in this case, even though it would indeed lead to a single-frequency precession pattern under other circumstances. That the formation of a large polaron spin causes a characteristic doublet precession signal is evident from the experimental data. We also show why the alternative interpretations presented in the Comment are not plausible.
