Abstract
I am able to reply to some of the issues raised in the comment above.Since the National Research Council Task Group on the Forward Contamination of Europa has officially disbanded, I cannot address the issues concerning the soundness or completeness of our report, or the proposal by Greenberg and Tufts for an alternate guiding principle for planetary protection. The National Academy of Sciences, NASA, and the International Council of Scientific Unions' Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) have received the Task Group report and may wish to address these concerns.
