Abstract

Bio-based network polymers were synthesized by cross-linking diastereomeric tetrafunctional epoxides, tetra-trans-LO (1) and tetra-cis-LO (2), with polyhydric carboxylic acid in the presence and absence of a catalyst. The cross-linking ability of 1 was higher than that of 2 and afforded to higher polymer yields, thermal stability, and mechanical strength. Repeatable adhesion with a moderately high recovery strength was achieved using 1 and polyhydric carboxylic acid in the presence of Zn(acac)2.
