Abstract
We study the effects of fluctuations on the mean-field phase diagram of a Landau-Ginzburg-Wilson (LGW) action of the form H=1/2∫ q |φ q | 2 (q 4 +bq 2 +c)dq+λ/4!∫ q φ q1 φ q2 φ q3 φ q4 δ(q 1 +q 2 +q 3 +q 4 ), where b may be positive or negative. In the latter case the inclusion of fluctuations may produce large quantitative and qualitative effects in the phases and the transitions between them
