Abstract

We extend to the Domany-Kinzel cellular automaton model of directed percolation the Phenomenological Renormalization Group (PRG) method introduced by Barber for equilibrium statistical systems. This method results to be quite efficient in determining both the critical surface and exponents of the model. The existence of two universality classes is predicted by the PRG analysis and confirmed by Monte-Carlo simulations.
