Abstract

A Green function renormalization analysis is applied to some diffusion/adsorption kinetics on fractal substrates. We develop a renormalization analysis of adsorption and two-phase (fluid−solid) transfer and adsorption kinetics in the presence of energetic heterogeneity. Two particular examples are considered: (a) adsorption on the line in the presence of spatially homogeneous randomness in the adsorption energies, and (b) adsorption on a fractal structure in which the adsorption sites are localized on a fractal submanifold.
