Abstract

The report discusses physical and load bearing properties of mixes used for repairing various damaged reinforced concrete constructions. The mixes in question are those based on epoxy resins known by the Polish trade name “Epidian 5”. Results of laboratory tests on concrete and reinforced concrete elements subjected to axial tension and bending are given. The glued joints appeared to be stronger than the original, monolithic, concrete samples. As a rule, the cracks appeared always in concrete. The technology of repairs evolved has proved to be both economic and simple, and may lend itself well to site conditions. Examples quoted in the report concern repairs carried out to a viaduct, prestressed concrete, a water-tank foundation, reinforced bearers and other prefabricated sections.
