Abstract

Detailed electrophysiological characterisation of persistent AF (persAF) patients, who would benefit from pulmonary vein isolation (PVI)-only approach remains suboptimal. Electrophysiological assessment of fibrillatory dynamics using the renewal theory, which determines rates of phase singularity formation (λf) and destruction (λd) has previously been extensively validated in computational, experimental and clinical setting. Using renewal approach, we aimed to characterise a cohort of AF patients who would be responsive to PVI-only approach.
