Abstract

A Renewable Energy Training Project in rural areas of Argentina is ongoing with emphasis on the analysis of energy problem areas, the introduction of simple renewable energy systems such as wood stoves, solar cookers, dryers and stills as well as micro-hydro systems for providing electricity for small communities and photovoltaic systems for rural schools. An assessment has been made of the different educational materials developed under this Program. These materials are being utilized by a Network of local renewable energy investigators and trainers. Emphasis has been placed on the training of rural school teachers for remote areas of the country. A training Focal Point for renewable energies is entering its third year of successful operations.
