Abstract

SummaryThe occurrence of renal tubular defects in two cases of fibrous dysplasia of the bones is reported. Case 1 has vitamin D resistant rickets and Case 2 has renal glucosuria and aminoaciduria. The renal defect in Case 2 resembles the syndrome of Luder & Sheldon. According to the present theories on renal function, the site of the renal defects can be located to the proximal tubules in both cases. It is postulated that the renal defects in fibrous dysplasia of the bones are associated congenital lesions.
