Abstract

After transplantation, over a widely variable time course the cortex of the transplanted kidney becomes stiffer as interstitial fibrosis develops and renal function declines. Elasticity ultrasound imaging (EUI) has been used to assess biomechanical properties of tissue that changes in hardness as a result of pathological damage.
