However, some recent studies refute this impression or at least bring its validity into question. The condition is benign and carries a good prognosis. The likelihood of its being accorded serious import or even being treated as diabetes mellitus, gives renal glycosuria a prominent place in the diagnostic consideration of the medical work-up of any case of melituria.
