Abstract

Treatment-resistant hypertension is a recognized clinical challenge and renal sympathetic denervation (RSD) represents a new frontier of this treatment [1–19]. Patients with treatment-resistant hypertension are at high risk of cardiac complications, valvular complications, vascular complications, cerebrovascular and renal complications [20–26]. A 52-year-old woman with a history of severe hypertension was taking seven antihypertensive drugs [27–30]. We excluded causes of secondary hypertension and have recommended RSD (state-of-the-art: percutaneous technique, catheter-based radiofrequency ablation).
