Abstract

High-voltage pulsed discharge coupled with LaMn1-xFexO3 catalyst was used to remove simulation NOx from motor vehicle exhaust. A self-made line-tube pulsed discharge reactor was adopted. Several important parameters such as diameter of stainless steel cylinder of pulsed discharge reactor and diameter of the high-voltage pole were determined. The catalysts were prepared by citric acid-EDTA method, which were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and BET. The characteristic results showed that the LaMn1-xFexO3 catalysts could be synthesized successfully. Besides, the effect of calcination temperature, catalyst dosage, gas temperature, and methane addition on removal efficiency of NOx was investigated. The results indicated that the removal efficiency could reach 62.2 % within 20 min treatment.
