Abstract

Based on screening priority pollutants in the Tianjin area, this paper has selected some environmentally significant organic pollutants, including alkylbenzenes, chlorobenzenes, naphthalene, 666, etc., and reported on their removal efficiences in the laboratory and outdoor strengthened facultative stabilization ponds. The possible transport pathway of the pollutants was studied. Results showed that the removal efficiencies of most pollutants are satisfactory. Dissolved oxygen (DO) in the pond had a great impact on the efficiency. Pollutants could be removed from water by adsorption on suspended substances.
