Abstract
AbstractPatients with nasal foreign bodies frequently present to emergency departments. Nasal foreign bodies are often difficult to remove and may require referral to an ENT surgeon or admission to hospital for removal under general anaesthetic. This study reviews patients with nasal foreign bodies who presented to the Gosford District Hospital Emergency Department over a three and a half year period. The results indicate that a technique for the removal of nasal foreign bodies in the emergency department using a Fogarty catheter may be successful.
